Freeze Festival 2012

Freeze Festival 2012

As the frost descended on Battersea Power Station the title ‘Freeze’ Festival couldn’t have been more appropriate for what was about to come!

Following on from Boardmasters Festival, our client Desperados sponsored this year’s Freeze Festival in London.

Space have been behind all Desperados Festival activity this year including Boardmasters and Parkilfe and yet again we were about to deliver an unforgettable experience at this year’s Freeze Festival in London. We donned our woolly hats and scarves, packed our heater and a bumper size box of P.G tips and we were ready to roll.

Both days kicked off with shows from Rebel Bingo, not for the faint hearted and certainly not for your grandma they entertained the raucous crowds with a game of bingo packed with innuendo and fun. Throughout the festival Desperados regulars Duke drew in amazed crowds with their insane beat boxing skills and the rest of the incredible line up put together by Space’s own team included Murkage, Raf Daddy, The Nextmen, Deekline, Major Look and Ms Dynamite.

Roaming drummers and promotional staff engaged the crowds whilst a graffiti artist spray painted branded merchandise and skaters and BMX’ers took to the Desperados mini ramp to perform tricks and flips to rival the main ski slope.

After our stint as security at Boardmasters to control the unruly fans desperate to catch a glimpse of Shy FX we were ready for the same fate as he once again prepared to close the weekend’s madness at Freeze.  As the factory filled to capacity, heads were bobbing, Desperados was flowing, the Power Station glowing and despite having lost the feeling in our fingers… it really was a night to remember!

A great review from Clash stated, ‘Desperados have certainly done something right with regards to their setup and delivery of an interactive and hugely enjoyable space. We certainly feel that we got a bit of everything any festival-going punter wants: great musical entertainment, an exciting bar and freebies to boot. They’ve certainly hit the nail on the head and at times stolen the limelight from the main stage.’

Not to big ourselves up or anything but…actually we will! We couldn’t agree more!
